Not yet - this is internal compliance training aligned to industry standards, purpose-built for the topics hospitality teams need most. Formally accredited modules are on our roadmap, adding externally recognised qualifications on top of the existing scenario-based training.

How long do modules take?

25-35 minutes each. Designed to be completed in one sitting on a phone. Short enough to fit around a shift, long enough to be genuinely useful.

Can staff train at home?

Yes. Invite them to the app, they download it, and complete training before their first shift. Managers see completion status in real time, so they know who's ready before they arrive.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Modules download automatically when connected and can be completed entirely offline. Progress syncs when the device reconnects. Ideal for kitchens and basements with poor signal.

How are certificates verified?

Each certificate has a unique ID. Anyone, including EHOs, can verify it at paddl-ai.co/verify. The verification page shows the staff member's name, module completed, date, and score.

What happens when regulations change?

We update the module content and trigger mandatory retraining for all affected staff. Managers are notified, staff receive the updated module, and completion is tracked automatically.

What topics are covered?

What food safety training do restaurant staff need in the UK?

All food handlers need training appropriate to their role. At minimum, staff should understand basic food hygiene, allergen awareness, and safe temperature control. Kitchen staff typically need Level 2 Food Hygiene, and supervisors may need Level 3. Beyond formal qualifications, in-house training on your specific procedures, HACCP plans, and allergen protocols is essential.
